Tony, a keen 55 year old cyclist from Chalfont St Giles has decided to cycle 2021 miles during the summer of 2021 to raise £2021 for Chiltern Samaritans. This is the same distance as 2.4 x LEJOG (Lands End to John O’Groats) or roughly the same as the Tour de France at around 2000 miles.
Tony works full-time in the financial services sector (currently WFH) and tries to cycle a minimum of 55 miles on weekdays before work, leaving at 05:30 and is back in time for his first meeting. He does a couple of longer rides at the weekend. He has, to date, cycled 1131 miles and raised £910 (as at 17 June 2021). He has one rest day every week. He hopes to have completed his challenge by early July – a little over a month.
Tony completed a summer challenge last year cycling 1000 miles in June 2020 raising money for the Rennie Hospice and has missed riding the Chiltern Samaritans cycle sportive the last 2 years – hence his own tailor-made Chiltern Samaritans challenge.
